Bilingual Accounts Payable Associate

Global Private Equity, Madrid

Our client, a leading global Private Equity firm operating across three continents, is currently looking for an experienced and organised Bilingual Accounts Payable Associate to join their Firm Finance team. Working from their pivotal Madrid office, the individual will be working for the UK entity. 

 

Responsibilities (not limited to) will include:

Accounts Payable/Employee Expenses

  • Responsible for end-to-end accounts payable process across multiple UK entities/offices; manage the AP inbox, resolve any queries, obtain relevant approvals
  • Process employee expenses to ensure correct coding for financial reporting
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the processing of payments
  • Review and reconcile supplier statements, resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain strong relationships with our suppliers, internal departments and other stakeholders
  • Ensure the supplier accounts held on the system are updated correctly and all bank details, company names and addresses are current
  • Administration of the employee expense platform; process expenses and provide support to internal stakeholders as required

Month End Accounts Close

  • Ensure month-end tasks are completed accurately and on time in accordance with Firm Finance deadlines, including ledger reconciliations
  • Management of prepayments
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Intra-group recharge calculations, collaborating within internal stakeholders to agree billing figures before issuing invoices

General Support

  • Support the Management Accountant in collating the data to prepare the Audit & PSA requirements
  • Support management with other ad-hoc duties as required
  • Support the roll-out of new processes as required
  • Continually improve processes

 

Candidates must have a bilingual level of English/Spanish as this role will be carried out entirely in English. A relevant University degree (Accounting or Business) will be viewed favourably as well as previous experience in an international or UK Accounts Payable or Expenses role. They must be able to manage standard Tech (Microsoft 365, VC Software, Slack etc.) with ease. Experience of Yooz, Infor Sun Systems or Yokoy would be an advantage.

 

The ideal candidate will be analytical, enjoy structure and be able to grasp financial concepts quickly. They will be tremendously organised and pay exceptional attention to detail. They will be self-motivated, comfortable with remote line management and will be an effective communicator, able to work smoothly with an international team based across countries. 

 

Location – Madrid 

Salary – Dependent on Experience + Bonus + Benefits

Timetable – Full time
