Bilingual Business & Finance Administrator
Technology Consulting Start-up, Madrid (Joint venture from a leading global hedge fund and strategy consultancy firm)
Our client, a technology consulting business, is looking for a Bilingual Business & Finance Administrator to provide support to both their Madrid and UK offices (from Madrid). This newly created, global position will work closely with the Business Administrator and involve close liaison with the Heads of Finance and People based in the UK.
The remit for this position is wide and includes (but is not limited to):
Finance & Bookkeeping
- Perform core finance tasks including bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable and month end support (Spain & UK)
- Assist with management reporting (Spain & UK), audits, and ensure compliance with financial controls while building stakeholder relationships
- Handle invoicing, expense processing and tax related administrative tasks (Spain & UK)
- Carry out local financial reporting and reconciliation for the Spanish entity, acting as key liaison with the external gestoria for tax and accounting matters
- Support the UK finance function as required, working alongside the existing outsourced provider under the direction of the Head of Finance
- Support all other finance administrative or ad-hoc task as required
- Ensure accurate documentation recording and that firm is compliant with governing legislation depending on the jurisdiction
HR
- Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle administration for the UK, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding coordination
- Prepare UK contracts, letters, and ensure completion of pre-employment checks and compliance requirements
- Support payroll processes through accurate data management and timely processing of employee changes
Business Administration
- Work closely alongside Business & Office Administrator, stepping in and providing cover when required
- Support Head of People and Head of Finance with ad hoc administration or projects
- Support Spanish Country Director with ad hoc administrative tasks of projects if required
The chosen candidate will be entirely bilingual in English and Spanish and comfortable operating across both languages in a professional international environment. A high academic bar is required (a strong undergraduate degree, 2:1 or above). Analytical capability and a genuine interest in finance are non-negotiable whilst strong Excel proficiency and accuracy with data essential. Curiosity to develop AI prompt literacy will also be viewed favourably.
The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, rigorous and able to handle highly confidential information with maturity. They will be able to operate with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility in an international, “best practice” environment.
As this is a newly created position at a recently established entity, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to shape the role and its direction over time in line with evolving business needs.

Location – Madrid, Castellana
Salary – Competitive + Bonus (10%) + Complete benefit package
Timetable – Full time 09.00 – 18.00h
Fully onsite with flexibility for occasional travel to the UK
Contract – Permanent, subject to probation period
